My sister got me the THQ game pack and I already had Dawn of War 2. So now its got the games on a list on my account. Is it possible to trade these for similar value items on the steam store. Personally I'd like to get some Shogun 2 DLC, for the blood pack and Otomo clan pack. Does such a trade system give me "points" on an account that can be spent on anything and if my gift is more than the value of what I'm after I'll still have part of the value back?

There is no mechanic like this available.

You could try to find some other Steam user and trade with him/her, but I don't think trading with Steam itself is possible.

On Steam, there is no "points" system. There are only items from games like TF2, games that have not been added to an account, coupons (sometimes, they only happened in 2011 from what I can recall), and as of recently, you can sell TF2 items for realm money. If your friend has GIFTED you the pack and you have not added it to your account, then you can post it on a trading site like TF2outpost and say you are looking for those other items. If your friend has bought the pack on your account and has been added to it, there is nothing you can do.

Always remember: 1.You can get scammed if you trade with money. 2. Everything is at decreased value, and there is an entire economy within the Steam community. This means even if you have something that cost $10, it's now $6-$8 to someone else.

EDIT: On the Steam store itself, there are no refunds. You can only trade with other users.
