My mate has recently finished his 6mm terrain so we had our first BGN playtest with 6mm tonight, with my Germans fighting his US troops.

Well KG Brückner fought their first action and a rather interesting affair it was too... Things seemed initially to go the US way, when the sole Tiger rumbled into a field and promptly burst into flames thanks to a 'Breakdown' chit. That really was all the US luck though, as after that with a well positioned German defence line, and the capture of Hill 10,the US were beaten into a pulp with German mortar fire and close range firepower... Though all the German tanks did very little. On these boards, infantry and recce troops are the 'Kings'... and the high ground is a huge advantage. Pretty much Normandy really...

Game ended with the Germans having taken only 11 break points to the US 25... Sadly my mates lights are woeful for taking pics!

Great looking table and troops! Really captures all the elements of the Normandy battlefields - it even seems to include some sheeps

By the way, are the infantry from Adler? I've been thinking starting gaming ww2 in 6mm (already have armies in 20 and 15mm so why not... and Adler seems to have some pretty detailed little guys.

Also, thanks for the great rules! I got the Kursk for Xmas and I'm really liking the book. Interesting to see what you're coming up with the Battlegroup series in the future.

I came, I saw and I'm still playing.

Lots to come with Battlegroup...

the figures are Adler. A bit out of scale to the GHQ vehicles but very fun to paint.
