I would maybe drop something on the first libby in order to arm the first tac squad. Death Company cannot assault out of a razorback so not sure about that... Scouts are numbering what? Just a point filler?

isint the point of blood angles is Assult marines? to me this sounds just like a regular vinilla marine list

Get rid of the DC at 1000 points. Frankly, I'm not sure there is a point level where they are good.

The new whole point of BA is fast vehicles, not assault marines. The whole assault schtick for the BA got kicked in the gonads imo. That's my two cents.

BA razorbacks should typically have las/plas not AC. They can move 12" and fire both at full BS.

Never take two marine HQs at 1000 pts. In fact, the only reason I have two at 2000 pts is because I ally with smurfs. In general, marine HQs suck for the points.

For blood angels imo, I always start out with 2 squads of 5 man assault marines (200 points) and a librarian (100) and add on from there.

If using death company, I tend to go standard pistol/chainsword and add a chaplain, run around murdering stuff and use tactical marines to hold objectives. That's just my logic though. Assault and score or Murder and hold.

We're mobile, not assaulty.

DC is really good, but pricy for such a low point buy. 2000 is where they shine IMHO, but to each is on.

The Predator w/ss HB is pretty decent buy for 1k. You can get MG or LC else where.

If you look, almost 10% of your army is PWs alone for DC.

Do you have enough Termagaunts?

In 6th edition, there is no point in using 5 man assault squads. Go large or go home. That being said, you can bring a full man assault squad decked out with the works for the price of the 5 DC with power weapons.

At 1000 pts, I would seriously consider two ten man assault teams, a libby, a sanguinary priest, and some attack bikes with multi melta. Attack bikes with FNP will have serious staying power at 1K. And make enemy metal bawkses die. And enemy terminators die.

Give the libby divination for extra lulz, so you can twin link your attack bikes or give one of your assault teams a 4++ save. Assault marines with a 4++ save are actually seriously badass with FNP stacked on top. And they actually score, so you can maybe win the game

If you want more dakka and less assault, you can switch out one of the assault teams for a tactical squad. Combat squad them and bring along sarge and the special weapon guy in a razorback and leave the heavy weapon guy to shoot.

If using the tactical, the aegis defense line with quad gun becomes very attractive.

You're right, the DC is pointless and a second librarian is silly; instead I'm going for adding in some IG allies, I'm just not sure how to go about this.

I want to use a small amount of blood angels for some serious assault power without using terminators.

I've got it in my head that attaching a sanguinary priest to a conscript squad or blob platoon would be a good idea; would it?

The sanguinary priests can only confer FNP and furious charge to units from C:BA.

Well that's that idea out the window then! I'll leave my spare IG models out for another later project then. Here's another 1k list:

jump pack
storm shield

Assault squad
-5 additional marines
-lightning claw
-2 flamers

That's better, but I really think you need to wedge in attack bikes with MM. Since 1k is where LRs start showing up, particularly for DA, it's a consideration.

I would say, make the Sanguinary Priest with a jump pack and add him to a squad of Assault Marines. That should free up some points. Also I would only put 1 flamer in each squad,

But the FNP seems much more useful to the assault bikes?
Anywho, here's another list! I already had 5 old metal scouts with bolter pistols and knives and I figured if they end up with the red thirst they'd be pretty useful; either that or a decent means to sit on an objective or for disruption.

Librarian
-jump pack
-storm shield

Assault squad
-5 additional marines
-lightening claw
-2 melta guns

FINAL DRAFT; I think I messed up abit with the other lists because I wrongly noted 2 melta guns as 10pts while writing the lists and only just picked up on it, so I've dropped the lightning claws.

Any tactics advice? So it's good then?
The lack of lightning claws isn't that much of a downer is it? I'd rather know I can murder SMEQ's from a distance AND take down vehicles than just have a little extra CC punch against them.

What's everyones opinions on the sanguinary priest? Should he stay on the bike or what about having a jump pack?

I like my priests with a jump pack BUT on a bike you do get that toughness boost. I like to hop over stuff to assault and to hide so with a bike you might run into a little trouble keeping him within the range for FNP. I personally am having a hard time being competitive with my BA this edition.

BA took a real kick to the gonads for assault marines this edition but the libbys really shine this edition

Personally I would take 3 naked preds at most point values untilyou start to want fliers as they are cheap and very effective and make it difficult for your enemy to prioritize then I would take a furioso librarian in a drop pod to blood lance a tank and then just go for assault marines with MG's and a PF

Automatically Appended Next Post:
As for HQ either Mephiston or libbys are your best bet most of the time at this liw points value I would take either a libby or a chaplian
