Just got a Badger 105 patriot for christmas! Was trying out the Vallejo poly Primer black on some minitures this weekend. Whats the Curing time on this? I sprayed some last night and this morning the paint easily came off with a fingernail. Does it need to cure longer?

I have the same issue. Just be careful with the models and dull coat them when you're done. All colors will act similar to the primer I've found.

Dull coat as in something like a Krylon Matte finish?

i have the same problem... i have the same results on plastic, resin, finecast and metal models... i wash all my models before priming to make sure theyre clean... i have also tried coating it with matte varnish and it helps a bit but im still not really pleased... some people say to spray on 2 coats with 24h drying time. i would really like a vallejo expert to comment on this

My results are really hit or miss. I have some old models I basecoated a long time ago with basic spraypaint, I can't get it off for the life of me, but any new stuff I spray on just comes right off with a thumbnail. I even have a model I sprayed with a gloss varnish, washed with black oil wash, then sprayed again with a matte varnish. Same easily removed result. Paint comes off with an eash nail rub.

I gloss, flat two coats and I can't scrap my paint off with my nail.

I use this but apply via paint brush as I dont have an air brush and found the following.

Plastic - Works fine never comes off I don't even varnish and not had any issues yet (my models go to a lot of tournaments).

FW Resin - I cant get the primer to stay on this stuff.

Finecast - Not had any issues using it on this.

Metal - It comes off when knocked or scraped but if you apply a few coats of paint over without taking any off and then finish with varnish I don't have any issues.

The Vallejo Polyurethane Primer does take a day or two to cure properly, but really just being careful will do the job. It's fine once a few coats of paint are on it, or that's what I've found . And it shrinks to detail like no-one's business.
