Hey Dakka.
The year has just begun and my mind has already turned to the forseeable Games Day 2013 UK. Now, I went in 2011 and last year in 2012, never dressed in cosplay. I have saw loads of attempts at cosplay both on the interwebz and at Games Day and I must say, this year I must go in cosplay!
I want to go as an Imperial Guardsman and of them all, the Vostroyan Firstborn tickle my fancy the most. The only problem is, their attire is slightly more difficult than say the Armaggedon Steel Legion, Tanith First and Only, or even the Tallarn Desert Raiders so I require help if you will.
I am going as a sniper. I know what I want just not how to build it and such.

I have the sniper sorted. A simple paint job over one of that Nerf bolt-action rifle and it's sorted.
Where could I find a hat similar to those worn by the Vostroyan Firstborn?
How could I make their armour, such as the breastplate and gauntlets and shoulder pads? I was thinking of plasticard as I remember that being mentioned somewhere before but I have never used it before so don't know it's flexibility nor creativity, nor where to purchase it from so any help would be really nice.
Anybody know where I could find some brown leather long boots for men? Searching the internet they all seem to be female
Any chance some Airsoft or Paintball players out there know of some good red bdu's? I doubt I could find a pure red one and all searches come up with a red/white/black camo so that's a little problematic.

you can check out boot barn....they got em here out west but i dont know if they ship international
