I'm just finishing building a set of Salamanders Assault Terminators and having green-stuffed on drake scale cloaks I'm setting about putting scales on them. However, for a bit variation, I wanted to add some short horns/spikes down the spine of the sergeant's cloak. My problem is that I have no idea how to do horns - all my attempts fail. If anyone can point me to a decent tutorial where this is explained I could finally be done with this green hell. Oh, I should also mention that I don't wish them to look Chaos-ish

No visual aids, but the way I do horns is as follows:

1-mix some greenstuff, 2/3 yellow:1/3 green
2-make a rough cone, doesn't need to be very pointy
3-put a dot of super glue where you want the horn, this is an anchor
4-put the cone in place
5-pull it towards the point gently
6-use a sculpting tool to gently pull the middle towards the base, this creates the tapering.
6b- It will pull the horn slightly in the direction you're going, so you want the last part you're pulling to be the direction it curves in (for instance, if you want to have the horn point towards 12:00, have the last part you're working on be around 12:00
7- you'll probably want to nudge it slightly to get the angle right, but 6b should make that easy

the process will make the horns longer than where they started, so you'll want to make them a little too short to begin with

Thanks for the reply. It was kinda how you make the cone that I was pondering over. Greenstuff seems to naturally want to be either a ball or a sausage. It doesn't seem to want to form a cone. Wow, just realised how noob-ish this sounds

EDIT:@Spiraling Cadaver - Nevermind, solved my problem Thanks anyway, just took a little experimenting.
