what do people think of this as a guard list going for a gunline style, lots of infantry, think this list is pretty good, thoughts??

Just give the Vets treble plasma or melta and stick them in the Vendettas.
You've got a lot of men on the board, and a lot of autocannon fire. This won't be an overly competitive list I shouldn't think, but if you are a decent player and can get target priority right it should do pretty well.

what are the more competitive guard lists out there?

I'm not sure really, not that up to date on competitiveness, other than that Necrons are win, GKs are very good, SW & Guard are also still top armies.

Not sure if leafblower is still the most competitive build, but Vendettas are still great.
