Ok, so have picked up some spearmen and the High Elves book, playing around with various ideas. Although Dragons are clearly not currently amazing I do really want one so have worked hard to fit one into my list. Please let me know what you think...

Drop the two basic Mages. The lvl 4 and lvl 2 are sufficient. Combine the spearmen into a unit of say, 40... Combine the White Lions into one unit, preferably of around 24-30 models... Add some archers...

I like Dragons/Griffons/Monstrous mounts. Are they artillery/shooting magnets? Sure. But when done right, they make gorgeous centerpieces for armies, and can still be effective when used right.

I'd say drop the 2 lv1 mages, consolidate white lions into 1 unit of 20-30, beef PG to 24 and bunker your archmage there. I'd also drop Korhil as SC's are rarely worth their points.

Combine 2 units of the spears into 1 and give them Banner of Discipline and the BSB.

A distinct lack of shooting and cavalry.

Dragon Lords for HE are a fickle thing. Yours has only a GW? No armor or magic gear? If so, drop him completely in favor of more bodies on the ground, like archers and some Dragon Princes.
