After games workshop made the night fighting and the rule about removing models from a units  ive been thinking about how they are always making the game more realistic so i thougt why didnt they make more rules that would affect a real battle so I made some rules that im going to try out with my freind about weather. For each weather tipe i made at least two rules and here are the rules i made.

Affecting weather

In the beginning of a game roll a dice if the result of the roll is 4+ then the game is affected by weather, in the beginning of each turn roll a dice if its 4+ then the weather has begun (affecting weather cant happen in the same turn as night fighting!!!), when the weather has begun the weather lasts untill the end of that turn, affecting weather can only happen once in a game. Now you roll a dice again to see what kind of weather will happen.

1-2 hail/snow/sand storm.
Dangerous weather:
Roll a scatter dice to see from what direction the storm comes from (the scatter dice points at the table edge the storm comes from if you get direct hit marker re roll the dice). All units that are not covered by armor or terrain(space marine would count as covered by armor because he has helmet and suit that would protect him from the storm)needs to see what members of the unit are hit by the storm (the guys closest to the table edge that the storm comes from). Those models get a single wound but may take armor or cover save.
Blinding storm:
When moving you roll two dices, discard one of the dices the other dice showes how far you go. Before you move roll a scatter dice the unit/vechicle moves in the direction that the arrow points, roll of a direct hit means you choose what direction you go. If any unit/vechicle gets of the table edge it goes in reserve. No unit/vechicle can shoot
Longer battle:
The battle is slowed by the storm an it gets longer to a minimum of 6 turns.

3-4warm day
Exhausting heat:
When moving you throw a single dice to see how far you go. Weapon skill is reduced by one. Open armor infranty (like orks) and vechicles are not affected by this rule.
Bright sun:
Ballastic skill is reduced by one

5-6 heavy rain
Blinding rain:
Same rule as for night fighting
Wet rain:
All models on the board gets soaked in water (does not affect units under terrain pieces).

Thats it, the weather is built from earths weather tipes because i lack experiense of weather in outer space but i would like to hear what you think about this maybe they are just extra trouble that is making the game longer... Ill also add some photos later to clarify the dangerous weather rule. if you have more rules (maybe for the raining weather because the second rule was really just to make a second rule) for my or other weather tipes like a warpstorm or just a regular thunderstorm i would like to hear it!!!

Sounds interesting. Might lead to a few arguments over whether a model is covered or not though. In friendly play that won't be a problem, so might as well give it a go.

Its true that it might lead to arguments so Ill probably post a pick tomorrow to show what models would be affected

Why would open armor units be unaffected by the heat? There in the worst position of all no protection leads to burns, dehydration, and hallucinations and leads to much worse things which makes no sense at all for them to be unaffected. Forces like the Tau in there Battle-suits or Space/Chaos Marines in there power armor(with environ-control and Blinders) would be much less affected by the elements than primitive armies like the Orks. The Orks would suffer much more in the heat because of a lack of proper protection.

Ok your point is good and my freind was also talking about this, but thing is that i just gave the "full armor infantry" a good boost in the storm so i couldnt also give them another boost in the heat system and leave the "open armor infantry" with no boosts. I know i i wrote i was trying to be reallystic but I need also to be a bit fair, or i could let everyone skip the exhausting heat rule... Thats my opinion at least, but your point makes more sense. i play eldar with high tecnology stuff so they would probably have some heat sensors in their to see their targets in storms. So again, to be able to have such rule i need to make it a fair...

Wherever they tell me

This seems very punishing for lightly armored/horde armies. The dangerous storm would literally kill 83% of any ork boyz not in cover in a single turn.

Either reducing that or punishing heavily armored troops in another scenario would balance it out.
An idea to punish heavy armor:
Gravity Storm (because space is crazy)
-Every unit makes an armor save (use the average if mixed). For each unit that passes their armor save, they are pinned for this turn. Fearless units or units that automatically pass morale are not immune to this effect.
-Vehicles roll 3D6. If the total is greater than the side armor value, they pass this check. Vehicles that fail are affected as such. Flyers become skimmers for this turn, skimmers are land vehicles, and land vehicles treat everything as difficult terrain.

As for making it less punishing for horde armies, just make it like imhotek's lightning. Each unit takes D6 hits. Still hurts horde armies much more than elite armies, but now it's not so horribly crippling.

This is a very cool concept, I based mine after Blood Bowl and added battlefield conditions with the help of posters and other threads.

Neat thought for armies with 'gets hot': Rain/Snow remove or lower the chance to blow up. Or each 'gets hot' roll that blows gets a reroll. or each model gets a reroll once per game. ETC Etc Blah Blah
