Most recently, I have been painting marines, and not even doing that very often, but I realised my best chance of actually getting an army of decent size painted was to do my Wraithguard Army of Eldar. In the long term, I have about 18,000 points of Eldar in various colour schemes, unpainted and poorly painted that I need to paint, but my Wraithguard, Wraithlords and old Executioner models that I plan to use as Warlocks will get me to almost 2000 points. The name or the craftworld will be Ynn-Brydos, which is a play on words from the Welsh festival of the dead, Ysbrydnos, and the Eldar god of the dead, Ynnead. It means "The Dead Walking" which is appropriate for an army that will start with Wraithguard.

I also have a lot of Eldar models that I plan to paint as a corsair group originally from Ynn-Brydos called the Bloody Hands of Khaine. I'll present some of them in this blog too, as and when I ever get back to them, but for now, I did a test scheme for the Wraithguard part of the army on an old RT-era War Walker I somehow acquired. It is dark here, so I'll have to get some better pics done, but here is some pics done in poor lighting for now...

The bone is white primer, with a black wash, followed by Dheneb Stone, then washed with Gryphonne Sepia. It is then highlighted with Dheneb Stone, 50/50 Dheneb Stone and Bleached Bone, and then Bleached Bone. I may do a 50/50 Bleached Bone and Skull White stage too, depending on how it looks in daylight. The blue is Necron Abyss, Mordian Blue, Mordian Blue and Ice Blue, Ice Blue, then Ice Blue and Skull White. Half the purpose of this blog is to keep track of colours for things I paint, as in the past I have had a habit of painting something, then never being able to replicate it This scheme is a blatant theft from here.

The model is unfinished, but has the basic scheme done, and I'd like to know what people think, so I am posting slightly early...

I know the picture quality is poor, so I will post again, but what do you think of this for an Eldar scheme?

Though guards may sleep and ships may lay at anchor, our foes know full well that big guns never tire.
