Hi ya'll,

1. Can Eldrad Ulthran's use his staff to throw like a singing spear? Unless I missed something, I would say no. Is the staff 2-handed?
2. If 3 Vibro Cannons (in same unit) are used on an enemy vehicle, but only one hits, is it one glancing hit or 3 glancing hits? Cannons don't need line of sight, do victims get cove saves? Not sure, it seems to insinuate, when all you need is one hit on enemy infantry unit and you still get the higher str. of 6.
3. What is the max move for a Wave Serpent, is it 18"? Same vehicle with Star Engines max speed is 30" (18+12). Is this correct?

Thx, ahead of time for any help.

1. No, the staff only does what it says it does in his entry.

2. it's debatable, some would say being hit in this instance is having the line drawn through you, so a vehicle only ever suffers one glance for a vibro cannon battery, others would say that each vibro cannon that rolled a hit is hitting the vehicle, and so it suffers one glance per vibro cannon that hit (in your scenario 1), still others suggest that, when you draw the line through a unit, said unit suffers D6 hits and each of those hits becomes it's own unique automatic glance, vehicles are units after all.

3. A Wave Serpent, like all vehicles, can move 12" in the movement phase, it can then opt to move flat out in the shooting phase and travel an additional 18" (for being a fast skimmer, normal vehicles can only go an extra 6"). Star Engines have been changed in the FAQ to be an extra 6" of movement when moving flat out (allowing the Wave Serpent to travel 24" in the shooting phase).

Interceptor Drones can disembark at any point during the Sun Shark's move (even though models cannot normally disembark from Zooming Flyers).

If you add more vibrocannons to a squad, then the strength goes up - +1 for each vibrocannon. You still only get one hit per squad. If you want to do 3 separate glances, you need to take vibro cannons singly. But the downside is you use up all your heavy support slots at less than 2000pts.

Its because ordinance is still a word.
However, firing ordinance at someone isn't nearly as threatening as firing ordnance at someone.
Ordinance is a local law, or bill, or other form of legislation.
Ordnance is high caliber explosives.
No 'I' in ordnance.
Don't drown the enemy in legislation, drown them in explosives.

With the Vibro Cannons, that's what seems kinda of wacky logic. Is that you get 3 glances if you "buy" the Vibro Cannons separately but when you "buy" the Cannons together in 1 heavy slot they only do 1 glances. GW logic, huh? This seriously needs to be FAQ'd some more.

Yes, it is a bit wierd. Bear in mind that with a unit of three Vibro's, even if only one hits it's still resolved at S6. Whole loads of wackyness.

Bear in mind that these rules were made back when glances could outright destroy a vehicle with a good string of 6s.

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Vibro cannons work in concert. They only ever fire 1 shot no matter how many are in the squad. This doesnt need FAQd as it is spelled out very clearly in the codex.

Well, buying more than one VC in a battery gives you:
- higher possibility of drawing a line,
- the hits being higher S.

As for the number of glancing hits.. It's definitely not the number of VCs in a battery. There is no rule that even remotely hints a behaviour like this.
I've always seen it as only a single glance, but I do see where the idea of D6 glances comes from.

Good things are good,.. so it's good

I know 3 glances would be too OP per turn especially if you lined up 2 or 3 enemy vehicles. I guess it would be more of a multiple anti-troop weapon with good str. and if you hit a vehicle as well it's a bonus glance. Still not a bad deal.
