Can a model turn on its base and strike at an opponent who is in their back arc, while they are engaged from the front? For example;

-----(Back Arc) Ol'Rowdy (Front Arc)---(Front Arc) Impaler (Back Arc)----
-(Back Arc) Madrak (Front Arc)-----(Frot Arc) Impaler (Back Arc)----------

It isn't the best example, but Madrak is in Ol'Rowdy's rear arc, and the Impalers are in the front arc. Can he turn around and splat Madrak, or is he stuck facing the Impalers?

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Warmahordes is not like that.

You can move freely even if you are engaged, you can even move out of combat if you like (but enemy models can make free strikes if you do).

You may move and rotate normally. However if you have something that prevents movement, rotating counts as moving.

GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

However many things that make models stationary say the model can still turn.

Stationary isn't quite the right word since stationary is its own effect (and
does prevent turning), but Grey Templar is right that abilities that don't allow
you to advance sometimes allow you to rotate.

Keep in mind, however, that rotating your base counts as movement, so if
you rotate your base to get something in your front arc for a ranged attack,
then you will not get the aiming bonus since you did not forfeit your movement.

Another situation that will come up will be getting knocked down and wanting
to rotate. When a model gets up, it must forfeit either movement or action. If
you rotate your base you won't be able to attack.

Right, darn you PP and your ultra specific wording
