Hi there folks i had a couple of questions concerning my chaos land raider, i want to paint it word bearers colour scheme the model is primed black, the coat is nice and thin and so far it looks well.

So i have the games workshop spray gun and then air cans, i'm ready to go and Ive spent some time watching how to do shading etc going from dark to lighter colours when doing coats.

I want the darker red and silver trim look to this word bearers tank. so my question was what red's would you guys use? which colour would you shade with for the first coat? and what colour to finish it off with?

My reds that i currently have are : Scab red, Red gore, Blood Red, Mephiston Red. Those are ordered darkest to lightest. i also have a nice mithril silver for trim.

Looking at the 4th codex, they went from red gore to a magenta ink, so dark to light, should i spray a thing coat of red gore, then go to a thin coat of Mephiston red?

Crimson wash
Violet wash
Paint trim Leadbelcher
Black wash

My word bearers are painted foundation red, medium grey, and washed with devlan mud.

I think you could go Crimson, grey or metallic trim, and then a sepia wash and then a watered down black wash. Then highlight back up to a medium red.
