Not normally.

Make sure they are packed in a manner that you can easily open them up then pack them back up again though. If your luggage goes through an X-Ray, it can show up somewhat odd - and curious security personnel will generally want to take a look.

Flew from Daytona Beach to Las Vegas with two of these as carry-ons:

filled with metal and resin models, no issues at all.

Your real problems will be the X-Ray guy wondering "what the hell's that?" so just make sure they're packed in such a way that you can easily unpack them and repack them if security wants to take a look. Also, make sure it's small enough to fit in the overhead bin without having to squish it in there.

Unless the X-ray guy is a 40k player then, be prepared to have your army judged, and maybe challenged to a game on the scanning machine.

In all serious I think as long as you declare them you shouldn't have a problem, especially of you are flying internally.

When I travel, I fly around the world, Sometimes take the minis in the luggage. Sometimes int he carry on.

Only issue I have had was with the X acto and blades. Forgot it was in the pencil box with the paint brushes.

Put that one in the check in luggage.

There is a section in the book where we talk about the values we expect all staff to demonstrate in their working lives. These values are Lawyers, Guns and Money.
