Right now Kharn is with my 9 Berzerkers in a Rhino. I was thinking of moving him and putting him with 35 cultists and foot slog up the board. Then possibly getting a Khorne Lord with the berzerkers in the rhino, but then that would be another HQ slot filled up. I really like using my berzerkers, but unsure if this would be the right fit, or just stay with what I am doing.

I have a mate who used to run Kharn with a squad of Berserkers. He tried one game running them with cultists and never looked back. Its the far superior way to do it. And who gives a grot if he kills a cultist. Rather that than a much more expensive Berserker.

My biggest problem with rhinos is that you cannot assault out of them. That means that Kharn has to wait until turn 3 to assault.
- Turn 1 drive up
- Turn 2 get out
- Turn 3 assault

If your looking to get him into combat, 35 cultists might be a better bargin. Simply because it will take nearly as long to get him into the fight without costing expensive bezerkers.
Of course, the other option is a land raider. That gets him into the fight on turn 2.

Dude, its chaos!

Buy a beaten up land raider off ebay, or from a friend. Stick green stuff on it to make it more chaos'y. Add bits from your bin.
Chaos and orks can be the cheapest models to make.

This is a razorback I picked up for 8 bucks from a friend. It was missing the gun, so had a fugly hole in the top. I dug through my bits bin, and pulled out a front torso/head/arms for a daemon prince (the kit comes multiple options) I used green stuff to mold a back, and did not worry about the legs.
To cover up the imperial sigil on the front, I added chaos bits from a spawn set.
Poof! Cool looking CSM rhino for 8 bucks.

Another thing t note, I know this has been discussed multiple times, but is it even worth putting on a mark of khorne for the cultists or just run em naked?

Don't mark em. They are just bullet catchers for your ICs.
