Hello, I'm trying to get back into painting as soon as I get back to the states but I dont have many colors to my large amount of armies. (2 40k, 1 WHF, and 4 warmahordes, also a dreadfleet)
Since I have many different armies I'm looking to probably just get a paint set or 2, I've been looking into airbrushing and have found a really nice set from badger, but I'm also looking for a full set that would be good for brush work as well with more coverage and some of the additional paints. I've heard the vallejo is pretty good but the only paint set I've found has only basic colors and no metalics at all. I suppose I could just go and buy P3 or GW ones but I'm looking for any suggestions that I could look at for paint sets that might suit my needs. Could anyone please help me in my quest for colors?

Try Reaper paints. The complete set can be found on Ebay for a pretty good discount. Vallejo is very good, but cost more and has closer matches to the GW paints.

Vallejo Model air metallics are great. Especially aluminium. Model color for golds / bronzes.

I'd honestly advise against most 'sets'; I find the best way to buy paints (for speedy painting) is to get to a store that stocks them and look at the actual colours (don't be afraid to shake the bottles like a maniac in the store). Generally I make sure I have 3 tones for each 'colour' I use (base, highlight, shade). Hold them up next to each other so you can see the progression and whether they 'work' with each other.

Otherwise you're spending loads on paints you might not use or only use very rarely.
