I recently painted a Black Templar Initiate as a test model and enjoyed it, so I figured I'd try my hand at a Neophyte.

The torso is the Scout Sniper torso, the sword is from the Empire Knights Champion and the heads are from Bretonnia Knights Errant. I only just started base coating Model A and worked a little on the facial details. Model B has only been primed and needs a little sanding on the gun. I will update with pictures as I progress.

Looks good, the paint job's simple but good, makes him look like a knight's servant in the future. Model B looks awesome, can't wait to see him painted, loving that head.

Slow progress since I've only been painting during my lunch at work, but I started work on the belts and pouches, base coated the bolt pistol, did the scope lens and highlighted the aquila.

I tried gold for the buckles and the piece above the aquila with the tubes sticking out (some sort of breathing device?) in order to break up the silver. The layering on the cloak goes...slowly.

I'm debating on whether or not to leave the boots black or paint them brown as well. Opinions?

I'm also debating painting a large black cross on the cloak. I haven't painted anything onto cloth, so I don't know how well I'll do, especially with the folds. As this is a test model, this would be the time to do it though, right?

Finally, not sure on a base color. I was thinking maybe a red, desert looking color? It might contrast nicely with the black and white.

@Sir Samuel - Thanks, I thought with that head he looked like a squire. I'm probably going to start on Model B tomorrow.

Got bogged down with some other things, but he's done. I added the two gold clasps on his chest because it kind of looked like the cape was just hanging there with no means of attachment. I'm still debating adding a black or red cross to the back of the cape, I just don't know how I'd adjust it to all the folds (or if you'd even be able to tell what it was if I did).
