Just ordered myself a Land Raider Armorued Proteus for my Thousand sons, but I'm wondering how best to chaosify it. I also got the brass etch for chaos so there's a start. But what about other parts, and parts for a hatch gunner? (N.B. I dont want to go super-spikey, but I do want it's allegiance to be obvious)

Also, are there any tips for making an assault ramp? I intend to use it as a regular LR and so it needs one

rainbow dashing to your side

spikes, spikes an....oh wait

I'd say go with the FW 1Ksons doors and maybe a few tasteful spikes here and there

gargoyle heads on the ends of guns always help, also those cauldrens of flaming skulls here and there would be nice. have a 1K son manning the hatch

also the old epic daemons filed down on one side make great little decorations

Normally, people will slap on a bunch of chaos spikes and nonsense, and call it done. But, most of the time, you can tell thats all they did.

If you're up for a tiny bit more effort. I'd say take some plasticard and make "minor" alterations to the armor. Such as the "arrowed or pointed" banding running around the edges. Nothing too serious, though. Cause, if the chaos have one, its EXTREMELY old. So, making it look old and weathered is probably your best bet!

(Maybe even making a very "Tzeenchy Icon" section of the armor, for the thousand sons theme?)

But, even minor painting things can change the feel! Check out this example from a "2-second google hunt".

See how just the slight weathering effects and the emblem on the door ALREADY make it pretty intimidating, and less imperium?

Make sure to get rid of all the aquilas and termy iconography (if its got em), and make it look like its survived millennia of marauding man kind, and I think youre golden!

The 1,000 Sons are the Egyptian themed lot, aren't they?

There must be some imagery or colour scheme you could build on.

For example, make gun shields that look like the blue and yellow neck crest thingies.

Some good tips guys, thanks

@SINISM- With the boarder idea, I did this for a Deimos Rhino, is this the sort of thing you meant?

Precisely! Simple, yet effective! I personally think that your rhino looks MUCH better than alot of the "Slap random spikey things on it" rhinos that you commonly see. Yeah, the chaos are angry. Thats a given. But, I think the subtle approach looks alot better. Kudos, sir!
