|-rant-| So in the past few weeks I have had a few question reguarding the new C:CSM book, and have sent GW's supposed Q&A email the questions. Three days later, all I got was the generic "Hi! Thanks! We're not going to answer your question unless everyone else asks the same one, and even then, we'll probably ignore you still!!! By the way, Chaos player, have you purchased the Stormraven Gunship? It's totally awesome, costs 82.50 USD, and isn't even part of your army!!! BUY IT NOW!!!!!!"

Minutes after I had sent the questions to GW, I sent a similar group of questions to forgeworld. Four hours later, they sent back a list of answers, even giving telling me "Hey this is how these things actually work, and also this dude actually has this now. Thanks supporting us!"

Seriously, I know they are 'different' companies, but they are the same bloody company. How can the Q&A line be absolute gak for one, and solid gold for the other? Am I just crazy for assuming that if, for example, you owned both a Toyota and a Lexus.. if you sent them similar questions about a car you owned from each.. they would have similar responses?? |-end rant-|

First off, why are you using the GW help line for rules questions? Its absolute gak because the people that man it don't have a knowledge of the game.

Don't use the GW helpline, it sucks. If you ask them the same question 3 times you will get 4 different answers. And usually none of them are correct.

I would rather use a tourney FAQ or INAT (if those buggers would release a 6th ed FAQ), but everyone in my group clings to GW faq's and helpline for some strange reason. If it were up to me... well.. some codexes would have heavy revisions to them already.

The helpline is bad also because there is no way to verify it.

I could go into your group, claim that all my terminators have 3 wounds and EW because the Helpline said so! You can see how this could get bad real fast.

FW probably give better answers because they're a smaller company and your question is more likely to get to a person who actually knows what they're talking about, while GW's size means that they're flooded with stupid questions and the person hired to reply to rule questions with a generic "buy our products" message probably knows less about the game than the average forum member.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

I am curious what email address or phone number you used to access these support resources as I have yet to get a response from GW or FW to any rules related query.
