Hey guys,

My GK army is slowly coming up, and after scouring the Internet for suitable Warrior Acolytes and Inquisitorial Henchmen I've decided to go with ForgeWorld Hostile Environment Cadians. Now I realize there is a fine line for counts-as in the hardcore tournament scene and I really don't want to get bit in the butt if my models get turned away. The warriors will have proper plasma rifles and bolter conversions and the servitors will be toting FW Mk2 Plasma cannons. I feel these should be fine for a tournament as they aren't demons of khorne or some wild model that makes no sense. Plus regular Guardsmen can't carry a plasma cannon so it would seem obvious what they were...

What are your thoughts Guys?

Also ill be using exact GW size rounded edge bases like privateer press uses, same size bases as ones included with models from GW; will this be a problem in tournament?

Every tournament is different, so it is very hard to say what will or will not be allowed. When is doubt, as the TO of that tournament.

that being said, as long as your henchmen look like some kind of guardsmen, you should be fine. That is doubly the case since they will be holding the correct weapons.

Just remember that servitors have a 4+ save,. while the others have a 5+ save. You might want a little something to help represent that, but if you do not it is not a huge deal.

As long as the bases are 25mm bases, their style should not be an issue.

40k no longer has an "official GW" tournament anymore, so it is all individual tournaments and organized. This usually means they are more lenient with models than GW ever was.

AFAIK there are no GE published kits for most of the henchmen (excepting the Jokaero), and they expect us to convert/model out own.

I would say that as long as you make sure to WYSIWYG them as best you can -- like you seem to be doing already with their weapons -- then you should be fine. I don't foresee anyone having a problem with you using Cadians (GW models, after all) as your henchmen. I've seen things from all over the place and tons of over 28mm games stand in as henchmen.
