Hey, so I had this pseudo-cheesy thought and wanted to ask if it had been done before/would work:

Mindstrike missiles cause perils of the warp on any psyker they hit. A storm raven has 4, and can fire them all when it comes in due to being a flyer. You could potentially perils someone like Ahriman (or any other nasty that just happens to be a psyker) to death in one turn as long as you didn't have horrible scatter rolls. The only part I'm not sure of is what would happen if he was in a unit, does psyker X still count as being "hit" with blast wound allocation (assuming he's under the template)?

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

A: Any psyker under the template will be effected by Psi-shock.

As above. Only 2 missiles per turn and any psyker under the template takes a perils, in addition to the actual hits the missile causes the unit itself.

if there are multiple psykers under the template, they are all hit by perils,

however, a brother hood of pyskers is not a squad of multiple psykers,

it is a unit that counts as one, not multiple psykers,
pg 34 says "if the unit suffers perils of the warp, or any other attack that specifically targets psykers, it is resolved against the character, if there is one (and he is alive), or against a random non-character model."

so no, you wont kill multiple models in a brother hood of pyskers unit (with one shot anyway, two shots = two insta gibs) but it WILL take out the srg, no matter what model is under the template, so its great for knocking out justicars,

also good for sniping psykers out of any unit, assuming you dont scatter too bad

If you hit the unit twice from one units firing, then the justicar takes two perils - noone else. This is becauseeverything is simultaneous.

I guess I missed this in the FAQ, thanks!

The psyker will take the wound in addition to the Perils of the Warp because the Codex states that the psyk-shock effect is "in addition" to any other effects. I insta-gibbed that Ork special character psyker (the one with a Squig-ifying curse) in one salvo of two missiles with this. My opponent's jaw dropped, he stared at me for a moment, and I promptly handed him the Codex section with the appropriate ruling.

Well the unit will take hits from the actual missile itself, it has a strength and AP value, in addition to the Perils for any psyker under the template.

So if a psyker is all alone by himself and gets hit by 2 mindstrike missiles he will take 2 Perils plus 2 hits at the str and AP of the missile.

So a template hits a squad of GKs and only covers the squad models.
The squad is led by a justocar.
The squad also had a brother captain attached to it.

Who takes the wound if:
1: The missile touched one GK model but fails to wound?
2: Touched two GK models but fails to wound?
3: Touched and wounded a lot of models?

Following things happen
1) If only captain is hit by the blast marker, Captain takes the perils and unit takes single hit.
2) If only squad members are covered by the blast marker, Justicar takes single perils and the unit takes as many hits as there are models under blast marker.
3) If both captain and squad members are hit, both captain and Justicar take single perils and the unit takes as many hits as there are models under blast marker.

Perils of the Warp portion of Mindstrike is completely separate from the normal wounding process. So it all of those cases, it doesn't matter does it fail to wound or does the unit make its saves.

If it was only over the squad, and not the Captain, the Justicar would take all the Perils and die. If the Justicar was dead one randomly chosen squad member(not the captain) would take the Perils.

If the Captain and members of the squad were under the templates the Captain would take a perils for each template he was under. The squad would be effected as per above.

Though if the unit had FNP the model would still get a FNP roll, so he may not die.

What if two Mindstrike hits were resolved on the squad? Does the Justicar take both of the PotW on him, or does he take the first, die, and the last be resolved on a random model in the squad?

Both perils are taken by the Justicar, as they happen at same time.
