So, I see that there is airpower for Orcs, CSM, IG, and Necron. Yet I can't find any rules for them.

I was told that the rules are in White Dwarf Magazines. However, I can't find anyplace to order back issues.

Being that I just, JUST, started playing last weekend. How am I able to get the rules for these ships?

Also, no airpower for Tyranids? :( Those are the army I'm liking the most so far.

Aircraft is a new unit type in 6th ed. So not all codexes will have aircraft in yet.

Imperial guard, necrons, chaos, gray knights and blood angels all have flyers.
In the older codex, e.g guard and necrons, the vehicles are listed as skimmers (for 5th edition). In the FAQ's from gamesworkshops websites their type is changed to "flyer".

TLDR - Look at the FAQs for guard/necrons/grayknights/BA
Other armys don't have flyers.

P.S Nids have flying monstrous creatures. These behaves similarly to flyers, the rules for their unit type are described in the big rulebook.
These are things like flying hive tyrants. Your codex FAQ will tell you that stuff with wings changes its type to flying monsterous creature.

only the fliers for Orks and Codex Space Marines were in the White Dwarf. Chaos, IG and Necrons have them in their Codices. Sadly the only way to get the rules for the flyers in WD is to get the ebooks for iphone/ipad.
Also Tyranids get FMCs instead of Flyers (Hive Tyrant with wings and the Hydra) as they get normal MCs on the ground instead of tanks.

Playing mostly Necromunda and Battletech, Malifaux is awesome too!

Orks and Space Marines were in an issue of White Dwarf. Necrons, Chaos Marines, and the IG flyers are in their own codexes.

Tyranids have the harpy and winged tyrants as flyers.

Great, thanks everyone. I see this was just a case of failed google-fu!

I've noticed a few armies with fliers are being left out, so I'll spell out the complete list. Note that all references exclude forge world supplements (merely because FW lets everybody fly)

The following codices have access to a flying vehicle (flyer):
Blood Angels (Storm Raven)
Chaos Space Marines (Helldrake)
Codex Space Marines (Storm Talon) - WD update
Dark Angels (Nephilim Fighter, Dark Talon) - 2013 Codex (released tomorrow, I believe)
Dark Eldar (Razorwing, Void Raven)
Grey Knights (Storm Raven)
Imperial Guard (Valkeryie, Vendetta)
Necrons (Night Scythe, Doom Scythe)
Orks (Dakka Jet, Blitza-Bomma, Burna-Bomma) - White Dwarf Update

The following codices have access to a flying monsterous creature:
Chaos Daemons (Bloodthrirster, Daemon Prince, Lord of Change, and similar special characters)
Chaos Space Marines (Daemon Princes)
Tyranids (Harpies, Winged Hive Tyrants)

The following codices have no access to any flying unit.
Space Wolves
Black Templars
Sisters of Battle
Eldar

So, even without Forge World, a surprising number of codices have access to a flier in some form or another. Admittedly some are much better than other (the Vendetta is the best flier, followed by the Night Scythe and then the Helldrake)

The reason some codices don't have flyers is because they are codices made before flyers were being added.

And Tau. Poor forgotten Tau.

There is no such thing as a hobby without politics. "Leave politics at the door" is itself a political statement, an endorsement of the status quo and an attempt to silence dissenting voices.

Tau are getting a new codex this year so will get some sort of flier then, sooner than armies like space wolves so I wouldn't moan too much mate.

Maybe that's why I don't see them. I purchased the box set that only has the little mini-rule book.
