So I get why everyone says their nobs, i mean their stats are exactly of a nobs. However nowhere in the codex (or nowhere I've found anyway) does it ever say that a flash git is a nob.
The only criteria you must tick off to be a flash git is that:
A) You need a gitzfinda, like a bionic eye or a scope somewhere.
B) You need a snazzgun, cobble up 3 shootas together and glue some bitz onto them and ur set.
After that you can decorate ur gits with a whole lot of bling and paint them all fancy and gold.
I think this conversion should be enough for a count as flash gitz, would you accept it?

To match the wound profile, they should be larger bodies... The official Flash Git model is nob-sized. With Nobz being one of the cheapest and numerous models, you should use Nob torsos if making an effort.

It also helps distinguish them from 'lootas' because flash gitz and lootas both have non-standard, non-uniform guns... so boy-based 'random gun' are assumed to be a loota and a nob-based 'random gun' is assumed to be a git.

Of course many players have no idea what ork units look like and can't tell the difference and others are like "you could use pennies if you tell me what they are!" So you could model anything and some people won't complain.

Flash Gitz should be Nob-sized like all 2 wound ork models and they will simply look better.

You are correct about the fluff side of it. Ive seen some just as boys, that had miniguns and what not. They are supposed to be wealthy (bad moon or get some teef another way [being bigger!]) or pirates that looted them. I dont see an issue with this at all. They dont have models so GW and any one who has a problem with it can Flog Off!

Fluffwise, you could argue that bad moon boyz get carried away by their wealth and ability to buy the flashest new stuff and start calling themselves nobs before they really should - and if they're armoured enough to justify the extra wound, and self-righteous enough to stick their fancy gun in the face of anyone who suggests they're only boyz, then maybe no one argues (while in earshot).

Modellingwise, I agree that avoiding confusion with Lootas is really the only important issue. That could be done as simply as painting gits in Bad Moon yellow.

They do have a model. He is NOB-sized. And claiming not to have a model doesn't let someone ignore WYSIWYG. I can't give a grot a pair of lighting claws and call him a terminator. Body counts for WYSIWYG for wounds and toughness.

I would use Nob bodies, as boyz are too short and stocky to be counted as gits. I base mmy flash gits off the ones on DoW, and those ones are nob-sized in the game.

The model on GW site was a single release model... that just stuck around after finecast. for you too buy a whole squad of the same mini is just rediculous. I considering your argument invalid. Its not a box set.

If all else fails and you want to use nobs Id use AOBR and get them from ebay pretty easy to come by.

Id just model the Boys with big Bicepes, for carring around their gunz!

Nobz just look great as Gitz. There are a great many mini companies out there that make pirate ork heads too, if you want to go the Freeboota route.

Here's an example:
