Hi, here is my new 2000 point IG tournament list. I'm still missing 20 points to spend and not sure where to best utilize it. I did have sniper rifles on the platoon command squad men but found that a waste as they would either go to ground to get the 2+ cover from the aegis line or the platoon commander was shooting the quad gun at a target the snipers couldn't really deal with. And if you see where I can improve in some place other than just the 20 points I'm all ears. So, send me your suggestions or gripes. I really need some help here in hammering out the final bits. Thanks.

HQ - 190 points

CCS - astropath, MoO, LC, Chimera (ML/HF)

ELITE - 65 points

Marbo!

TROOPS - 625 points

Veterans - flamer x2, HF (ride in Vendetta)
Veterans - MG x3, demolitions doctrine (ride in Vendetta)
Veterans - PG x3, AC, Chimera (ML/HF)
PCS - no upgrades (commander mans quad gun)
Infantry Squad - flamer, KG, AC, Chimera (ML/HF)
Infantry Squad - flamer, KG (ride in Vendetta)

FAST - 390 points

Vendetta x3 (outflanking)

HEAVY - 610 points

Manticore (HF)
LRBT x3 (run them lean and mean, no upgrades, 2 are squadroned)

FORTIFICATION - 100 points

Aegis Line w/ quad gun

= 1980

In a typical game I run a gun line of vehicles behind the aegis line. Chimera squads provide fire support and defense against attackers then take nearby objectives later in game.
The astropath helps get my vendettas in early for flyer support. They land troops later in game to get/contest objectives.

Looks pretty good. I dont see much benefit of outflanking all the vendettas when they're fliers anyway. For the remaining points really all I can suggest is loosing the KG on the infantry squads giving you 30. Then take grenadiers on the plasma vets... not so much for surviving enemy shooting, just from their own guns melting their face off.

I do have to say that last game I played I did lose ALL 3 plasma vets to overheating (the 40K dice gods are fickle). That being said I do like grenadiers but they just don't fit into tournament armies where points are tight IMHO. Maybe, just maybe I will drop the 2 krak grenade upgrades from my infantry squads but I'd use the 30 points to upgrade my flamer vendetta veteran squad with a second demolitions doctrine. I think that would help to clear objectives late game?

Hmmm, well now that I think of it like that, demo is probably a better option. The 4+ will help a little, but not much. At least the demolitions is offensive so you can control when to use it and its not up to whether your gun will over heat or not.
