I don't actually own the planetary Empires expansion, but i want to run a Risk style Campaign with the capture-able territories like in Dark Crusade. My plan was:

  • Have a medium sized campaign map with different sized territories

  • Different sized have different max points values (smaller territories can't hold larger armies)

  • Each Team has an HQ territory which has a points limit per side of 2,000 points

  • Basically other than that it is just like the campaign in Dark Crusade.

I would think an ability to invest in armored stationary turrets and small pillboxes in a similar manner to imperial bastions and aegis lines for defense would be cool.

I think that i could add new options

  • Each player gets 750 points to purchase reinforcements for captured territories, and when the enemy attacks you can have a garrison in your territory to fight the enemy army

  • Each player has a turn on the strategic map, which can involve moving your main army, capturing a territory, or purchase garrison forces to place in territories, like in DC

  • After your army wins a battle where the warlord didn't die, he gets one roll on the "Level Up Table". This is basically the Chaos boon table but ALL results of Spawn and Daemon Prince are re-rolled (except if your Chaos)

  • The points limit of each Territory is as follows:

  • Small territory: 500 points max per side

  • Medium Territory: 1000 points per side

  • Large Territory: 1500 points

  • Stronghold(HQ) Territory: 2000 points
