I watched this to get a bit of a refresher as I am about to test out the preshading and pin washing for some Imperial Fists and Sons of Medusa vehicles and this will be very helpful.
I would have never thought such a light coat of a brown would look so good for weathering. I will be giving that one a try as well.

It works great with red, which know is a low pigment colour, would it work well with yellow using a brown as the preshade colour?
I have just used the preshading method for an Imperial fist vindicator and I used a darker brown and it worked well. Just make sure you don't cover the preshade too much with the yellow and you should still see the shading fine.
