Pavane of slaanesh is a shooting attack, and rolls to hit. I see nothing preventing its use in overwatch.

But what happens if it hits? Do I move you d6" per hit before you roll your assault?

I can't see why not.

1/6 is not great odds though.

Four heralds with pavane in one unit, go!

That's ridiculous. Still though, every once on a while that's handy. And since we decided to play it RAW, it saved my masque from being charged by nobz once

The Masque can fire it 3 times right?

Her rule only gives her permission to use it three times in her own shooting phase.

How is it broken? 1 in 6 chance to move d6". So there's a small chance that you *might* move them out of assault range.

If you want broken, given me a single unit that can charge a squad of 9 Flamers of Tzeentch

Possibly the Avatat of Khaine. Though he might not be immune to their flamer-thingies.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

It also states it can only affect the same target once per turn.

True.

Hey you know who gets pavane as well? Blue scribes.

Oh you charged my 9 flamers? Here take 9d3 death hits and if this guy hits you I'll screw your charge too, likely

Avatar isn't immune, as it's not a flame weapon it just uses a template.

Sad that a basic flamer's gun is the warp charge 2 tzeentch psychic power from the chaos coded that needs a test to use and can be cancelled by deny the witch. Way to go.

But we're getting off topic. Consensus is that it works? Masque only gets one shot (it's a weapon that shoots one time, she's just able to use it 3 times in one turn).

Any unit from the Chaos Space Marines Codex as long as they have a Dirge Caster within 6" of them.

I didn't know flamers had that rule too!

"Charge tax: chaos space marine units can, for the cost of 40 points, first blood, and an extra kill point, have the privilege of being able to charge flamers of tzeentch"

Hey, if i'm vsing 9 flamers and it cost 40 points for my 400 points unit to charge them... i'll take it.
I say Pavane works and though a unit can only be effected once at a time that is enough to cancel one of their dice pretty much, and if you have another shooting attack... you got free over watch with that along with making them fail the charge and probably be able to charge them next turn or even better just make it so they need to go through difficult terrain as to strike them last.

Hi, can someone let me know where that is in the books? I've missed that bit - I just assumed flamers meant flame weapons.
