Human Auxiliary to the Empire

A project me and my friend came up with just after the 6th edition rule book came out.
The basic idea is that, since cover isn't a straight up 4+ but now a 5+ save in general now people will try to block line of sight to their models rather than rely on the 'weaker' cover save, i'd need a method to get someone out of cover or more bullets.
Then my friend pointed out that the 'masque' from the daemon codex can move enemy models, and thanks to the new allies rule i could have my tau with some daemon allies. Regardless of their distrust of one another they'll never be near one another and it'll act as a decent distraction for 1,2 maybe 3 turns whilst the tau gunline goes to work on the enemy, after all who'd ignore a 21 model strong blob in their deployment zone.
Then I didn't really follow through, bought more piranhas for the 3+ cover, tried out the 10 Wraithguard with Eldrad combo and got really annoyed at my last grey knight opponent for humping the buildings with his dreadnoughts out of line of sight of my broadsides.
So here i am returning to the concept and here's the models I've made, they're basically tau fire warrior legs, torsos and heads with arms from fantasy dark elf corsairs as Daemonettes. With the tau Aun Shi model as the masque.
The plan is to maybe add the shoulder shield on the backs of the models to cover the socket for the firewarrior backpack or just greenstuff the hole closed, possibly removing the neck on helmeted firewarrior heads and adding them onto the helmetless 'daemonette' models. As for Aun Shi, I'm going to practice my greenstuff skills and add a 'gauntlet' onto it's arm similar to the one from cowboys and ailiens to explain the D6'' movement ability as opposed to the normal dancing the masque does.
I'm curious about any ideas or suggestions the community may have plus any feedback on the models (i'll try and do some individual model picks)
