Im looking at a doubles partnership for a future tournament with an alliance of Necrons and Orks at 1000pts each. Any suggestions, really broken combos preferred!

I don't know Necrons that well but Imotekh the Stormlord can always start the game with night fighting turned on, and roll to keep it on.

That makes the KFF a fair bit better but it depends on what your can take.

Imotek is the worst choice for any alliance as the strikes effect your partner as well.

That is my first thought with a Necron D. Lord leading a wraith squad.

Cronair, or even at 1000 points you could do at least 2 squads of wraiths

Here you go

2 x destroyer lord with mss ws sw
2x 5 man warrior squads
2x 6 wraiths 2 with whip coils
Annihilation barge

Exactly 1000 points. Orks plays troop heavy with some lootas and boys. Necron warriors hold the back field while mobs of boys and wraiths hit the opponent hard

Opinions are like donkey-caves, everyone has them and they all stink.

We are limited to 1 HQ, but your think is going right along with mine.

Something fun I suggested was reversing the Necron Ork dynamic by running horde units of Necrons while my partner chooses more elite squads of Orks, like Nob Bikerz.

Either way is still viable as 20 warriors with a Rez orb in cover is frakin hard to kill and will obliterate almost anything near it. Especially vehicles.

Not to familiar with orks or I would lend more advice that way but I agree silver tide is always a good time. My only thought is perhaps the tide won't keep up with the nob bikers and then the bikers die and you get messed up in the assault. IMO there is one thing you can count on a block of warriors doing is getting swept in the assault phase.

Agreed. I was thinking 15 in a Night Scythe or two, could be more strategically placed. And the new iPad update fully protects them from transport destruction so that they can tap close by objectives if placed wisely should they be forced to walk on the board.

Competitively I think the Wraiths, nightscythes an Nob Bikerz is better, but the silver tide plus green tide combo would be unexpected.

To tough to kill, or to many to kill. Necrons can achieve both. But I agree night scythes probably the most competive as flyers will beat face, and it allows you to kill pesky hell drakes before you get torrented.
