I have recently got back into 40k and are playing with my tau.
I love using single crisis suits with shield drones and just jumping here and there with them shooting stuff as they please.
I have 2 main questions though:
Firstly is running them in ones a good plan or is it better to run them as a squad. I need to know if it works in case i decide to buy more.
Secondly how far do they move in the movement phase now. Since the new rules came out i cannot work it out.

Crisis suits run best in packs if you are not going to field a "Suicde" Monat ie Twin-linked fusion Blaster with/without Failsafe Detonator is personal preference. Jetpack units, Crisis and Stealth suits, move 6" during the movement phase and are able to walk as normal infantry or jump over obstacles and intervening units taking dangerous terrain test when necessary. In the assault phase if you do not assault anyone you may move 2d6" in any direction you want even after a deepstrike taking dangerous terrain test when necessary. Hope this clears it up for you.

I prefer squads. cheap ones if possible.
The more suits you got hanging around, the less severe is the loss of each suit, and while they might pack lesser firepower then pimped-out suits, the defensive ability stays the same.
If at all possible, try to go for maxed-out suits. (or two teams of three and a stealth team if you fancy these.)

can neither confirm nor deny I lost track of what I've got right now. |

The general thoughts on suits seem to run about like this:
1. More suits you have the better
2. Max out Elite slots before using BG suits
3. Use as many slots as possible. If you have 3 elite use 3 slots, if you have six put 2 in each slot, etc,
4. Cheaper is better so you can get more suits
5. Purpose build the majority of suits.

I've always had more trouble as an IG/DA player against squads of em. They are pesky for sure.
