Hey dakka,

I'm not sure if you guys can help but this looks like the right place to ask. I've built a large blood pact style renegade guard army that in game terms is led by stracken. So I used his pimped stats as an excuse to build him as a semi daemonic warlord ala Archon Gaur or one of his senior underlings. Now this is where I've hit writer's block so to speak, I'd like to build a "life ward" for my "archon" using the commissar yarrick rules. For those who aren't big guants ghost fans a life ward is a personal champion/bodyguard/commander of the elite troops.

My initial thoughts were to use ye olde daemonette claw as yarricks fist and I have some possible heads picked out but absolutely no idea what to use for the rest of the model. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Depends, are you going for a specific god?

Also, are you using any Chaos Warriors parts? A big scary chaos bodyguard/enforcer could easily work with a suit of ancient (or crude) armor.

If going for a more tech-y look, the Necromunca line has some cooler ostentatious looking minis.

No god in particular, I used skulltaker as a base for my archon/stracken and practically killed my poor dremel dekhorning him (those skulls we a nightmare to get off his cloak).

As for the infantry they are cadian bodies and weapons (all eagles etc removed) with a mix of chaos warrior marauder and flaggelent heads banners and weapons. Paint scheme is predominantly black and bone.

My storm troopers/veterans are a complete kit bash of various non workshop guard style bits. I can put up some pictures if it helps.
