This is the first full army I have completed in many a year, so I wanted to post here it for some feedback. I had been sticking to the occasional single model and some box-sets before, but some friends pulled me back into the game, and this army was the result! Something about the Tau just appealed to me, and once I started browsing the FW models for Tau there was no holding me back!

I didn't want them all to look identical, and wanted to be able to quickly see the difference on the battlefield while keeping the same colour scheme, so went with alternating the colours throughout the army. I choose red as the primary colour, and then a selection of black, purple and white as the unit designations and went from there. I wanted a sense of cohension without a completely uniform approach to every unit or model.

So here we go ... the entire army!

Now some of the details ...

Commander Farsight and his bodyguards

The XV9s

The obligatory Broadsides

The big guns ...

The Stealth squad ... I went with a totally different colour scheme here to differentiate them from the rest of the forces and to suggest the stealth suits. It made a nice break from all the red

Firewarriors ... the alpha squad ...

... and their beta squad alternates ...

The pathfinders and an Ethereal (not that he gets used much

... and not forgetting the kroot! A Great Knarloc leads my Kroot into battle!

... with a custom shaper to boot ...

So what do you think? What could be done better next time and what did you like / dislike about the army?

You can see the full resolution images in my gallery if you want a closer look.

Thanks!

I like the color Idea and think the highlighting is really good. I cant get down on the purple with the red though. Everything else I do like! Nice job

Thanks

I did go back and forth on the purple, as opposed to maybe using another deeper shade of red, but after doing a couple of the suits and trying it, it kind of grew on me.

For what it's worth, I like the red with purple. It's an usual color combination, making it interesting. I don't think it clashes at all.

Your army is beautiful, and you should be proud!

Great army,

Hey, etereals have a great chance of beying usefull in 6th, just deploy him in a terrain piece with 6 or 9 inches of highness, and him fall from it... from 6 inch, he will die on a 1, 2 and 3... for 9 you also kill it in a 4.

If my post show some BAD spelling issues, please forgive-me, english is not my natural language, and i never received formal education on it...
My take on Demiurgs (enjoy the reading):

Very nice group, color combo is good, red and purple does nicely because it's unique, strange, gives a nice energy especially to the vehicles.

looks great.

Thats one thing i kinda regret for playing orks. A basic color scheme for me still involves a heavy level of detail lol. I can tell thats a generic paintjob but it looks superb because of the edging applied to it.

Im still working on painting my orkiness horde....~70 of ~300 painted rofl

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

14000pts Big 'n Bad Orkz
6000pts Admech/Knights

Yeah, the details and different style of Orks and Ork vehicles has always put me off trying them too much. I've done a couple of individual models down the years and anyone who does an entire army of them has my respect!

... for my part I am leaning towards an all infantry Space Wolves army next ... shall see

The colors are nice and vibrant and cleanly done. I like how you differentiate the units.

Thanks I always find its important to have some contrast when you start to have a larger army ... and it's always worth it just as a break in the painting :p
