Wandering the Galaxy in search of knowledge

I am still plotting away at my Brotherhood chapter and when it came to the master of the Brotherhood, Warmaster Maliss the Havester (yes he has the same title as horus but the Brotherhood are not connected to the imperium or chaos), I could not think of a good ranged weapon to give him. Most of Maliss' componets will come from the model below, I will remove the chainsword arm and replace it with a cataphractii power claw (under the rules of a lightning claw) and count the small chainsword under his other as a weapon. The problem is what weapon is going to be in his left hand

The model I will use, at some point in the future

the power claws will come from this terminators weapon set

Fluff- (Plasma) because they don't blow up on heroes
Game- (bolt pistol) I'm guessing you want him in assault so the bolt pistol for the extra attack and its not a waste of points.

Lightning claw is a specialist weapon, so you cannot combine it with a pistol for an extra attack, so you might as well get combi-bolter or a stormbolter. I'd recommend either combi-melta or combi-flamer, as you can shoot those and still assault afterwards.

I'd say go for plasma pistol, Chapter Masters are multi-wound, add that to the armour save after the weapon getting hot, and you'll be fine, he shouldn't die.
A couple of things I will say though; The lightning claw you want to use might be a bit too big, as Terminator arms are usually bigger, but I don't know about Cataprachtii arms. And the 'chainsword' under his arm is going to be attached to other stuff that might need filing off, it's an Apothecary model, and it will take some work to not look like one. Unless you're going for that look, in which case, go for it. Just be sure your opponent knows he's not an Apothecary.

I saw Mephiston die from his PP once. And the cataphrctii arm might work. Regular terminator arms without shoulder pads are good sized
