Banners seems to be the new hotness but how do you keep them alive? lets look at the normal PA command squad as that is the cheapest and easiest to hide.in Sure you can put it in a venerable land raider with a power field tech marine but thats 400 points just to keep your banner alive. Even a stock land raider is double the cost of the unit its protecting. I've been looking at sticking it in a rhino possibly with a power field .The only problem is that the rhino isn't exactly hard to kill.


What have you found to be effective ? is it even necessary to protect it? should it go on a terminator instead of the PA?

Try Razorback, its got a weapon for defense.

Haven't put them on the field yet, but it really going to depend on which banner. I think Devastation is going to be top of most lists and there should be a wall of greenies between your command squad and the enemy. Azrael or the power field with an Apoth in the command squad is pretty stout against most things.

A decent tactic might be using that unit to draw more fire than it deserves giving the rest of your army time to gut the enemy
