Hey guys.

I'm looking for some advice / ideas.... I have a massive (6000pt) khorne army and for Xmas my bro got me the new angron model from FW I want to use it in standard 40k so I was thinking of converting him up a lil bit and getting a squad to go with him and making a pimped out centerpiece / deathstar unit... I was going to buy the FW heresy terminators so their armor matched his and run a unit of terminators but I hate chaos terminators, compared to the likes of paladins, deathwing knights or even TH/SS terminators chaos are just so sub par.... I wouldn't mind using another units rules but representing them with my unit of terminators but the alies system doesn't really help out...

Best I can come up with is using bloodcrusher rules but mount heavily converted terminators on big bases... then ally them in with my marines....

If any one has any ideas or thoughts I'm all ears

You say that chaos termies arent as good, I am thinking they get cheap heavy flamers, combi weapons, khorne termies with lc get a bunch of attacks with rerollable wounds. just because they lack 2 wounds, a 3++ or thunderhammers.
It all comes down to them being situational. if you compare them like "if my lc termies vs ss/th termies I will lose" then of course they arent as good, but then compare them vs meq or if they had combi meltas compare them with th/ss termies shooting at a tank.. and really how often will you rely on them to be killing 2+ save enemies anyway?

The main reason is they don't have ATSKNF, require a lord/mark for fearless, and generally can't compete with Wolf-Guard terminators who are the same, except near the same price with better rules.

Course they are the best unit of the Elite slot, aint saying much though.

True they dont have TH/SS as an option but that does not automatically make them worthless.

A khorne army still needs a some shooty bits with it. Try a 5 man squad of raptors with Plasma guns/ melta guns to bust open tanks or monstrous creatures. I use them in my Khorne army and they work really well

Your post seems to imply that after you drop them down (Deep strike), you use your flamer templates, then assault? You can't assault after deepstriking. If this isn't the case, you should probably reword it.

There is a difference between them being "Worthless" and "Subpar" They could be fine, if they had something like Fearless base. I think that's a bigger issue, than no TH/SS.

Kinda surprised at the hate against Chaos termies, I find them extremely useful. With mark of Tzeenech and combi plasmas they do really well against squads of enemy termies, and if you stick with Power Axes with only 1-2 PF they are cheaper too. I've used them to great effect in many games. The all combis make a huge difference. You only need to shoot down 1-2 enemy termies on the way in to make up the TH difference, after all. And they absolutely murder non assault termies.

They DO play differently to my Paladins, though. And yeah, I would not bother with Mark of Khrone, probably. But having a big unit all with combi plasmas is a pretty damn good deal. Or numerous small termicide units, ofcourse.

No they cant charge on the same turn but placed correctly you can weather a turn of shooting and then set about cutting throats.

Having a squad of termies on the side ready to drop in can be a nice psychological pressure on your opponent as he wonders where and when the hammer is going to fall.

Everyone is so set on hating the chaos codex but i've had no trouble using it and they've won everytime they've been used for me, some of the gripes are well founded but alot is just people bitching because we didnt get a ward level codex.

I have plenty of shooting etc, I really was just looking for an epic command squad to lead my army... I ended up deciding to ally in some necron and just represent them with Chaos guys, I know some people find that a little bit dodgey but to make it make more sense I have converted up some kick arse terminators and re wrote the fluff of the Overlord and his royal court to be about a khorn lord and his chosen... what do you guys think? rules wise it is perfectly legal
