The new F.A.Q. came out and it has a section talking about Pg. 41's scout rules on assault. The rule says if the scout move is taken then the unit cannot charge in the first turn. The F.A.Q. stats something like if they take the scout move, then the enemy goes first, they CAN charge on their turn. (I cant quote the F.A.Q. here exactly my work wont let me get to the GW website so any help getting that quote would be awesome)

My question here is "What is the first turn?" Is it the actual first turn in the game where one player takes his move, shoot, fight...or is it the complete turn of BOTH players. The F.A.Q. as I was reading it made it seem like scouts cant assault on the first turn, but if the enemy goes first then they are good. To be honest, I dont care about the scouts...I care about infiltrators, because they have the exact same wording. They cant assault on first turn if they infiltrate. If scouts can if the enemy goes first...then I reason my infiltrators can. This would be awesome because I already see myself with High Marcshall Helbrecht leading a assaulty Command Team of terminator honors infiltrators into a charge while having rage and furious charge and fearless in assault...on my turn 1...as long as I go second.

Turn = player turn unless specified as game turn, cant remember the page number.

As spongemonkee said, turn = player turn unless specified otherwise. It's at the front of the BRB.

Also, it's been pretty clear for awhile that the first player on the first turn was not allowed to assault. However, that the second player on the first turn was allowed to assault.

This was put in there to limit alpha strike damage potential and to try and even out the advantage that going first gave assault based armies.

...My LGS has had it wrong for months then. We always played it that both people had to finish THEIR first turn before assaults. This changes my outlook on Black Templars a LOT.

I hated going first because they would move up but couldnt assault, leaving them in range to get shot to death. And I hated going second because I THOUGHT I couldnt assault...meaning they would get shot at TWICE before I would charge.

It was so bad for a while that this was a major reason I picked up Tau...I feel dumb now. Real dumb...well, thank you for clarifying that. Time to have my BTs kick some butt again. Infiltrating HQs and Sword Brethren with Deep Striking Terms inbound...because I hate my own deployment zone
