So at this point in 6th people have been using Allies for a while, and probably have settled on a detachment that they like to use.

I was wondering, at this point, when building a list, do you automatically set aside points for favored units from an allied codex, and if so, is this detachment (or any part of it) static?

For example, Tau and DE both love Eldar for the Psychic defense and powers, so if list builders do dip into allies, it'll usually be to grab a Jetbike farseer, with whatever else they feel that army needs. Other armies dip into Necrons for the ability to grab 3 fliers that aren't in a squadron (2 NS and one DS by last count).
