Hi folks
Im currently working through Thorins company from the new hobbit box for ebay.
Heres what ive come up with so far:

Apologies for the huge wall of pics but these have been an absolute blast to paint so far and im pretty pleased with them.
Let me know which is your favourite and as always any comments and criticisms are welcome.

If you are interested in buying these have a look at the auctions, if not hopefully these have been atleast semi-inspiring

Great job. I like the fact that you've used subtle colors and haven't made them over the top as I've seen some people do with these.

Excellent paintwork. Nice highlighting and shading going on here. For next time, try and put the light source a bit further away or a sheet over it to defuse it a bit - some of your excellent paintwork is covered with reflective light

Thanks folks. I did have some issues with the lighting but I think I'm slowly getting the hang of it. I will definitely try putting a sheet over the light next time.

Keeping the colours true to the film was my main priority with these tbh. The gw studio ones are mostly accurate but almost all the colours contain some combination of brown and black.
Hopefully I will finish dwalin and have some pics up later on

Really nice models there, and very well painted. My only Critiisum would be the base's, a touch of grass/foilage would help add a splash of colour and sence of place. But apart from that, Awesome work

They look good, what varnish did you use as there is a bit of shine coming of them? could be flash or lighting though..

Great work
