Subject: Nurgle CSM - 1500 Points - First try!

Hello, I've been working on a new CSM force, so I thought I'd look for a bit of C&C before I finalize everything.
Chaos Lord - Jump Pack, Mark of Nurgle, Black Mace (or Burning Brand, I'm not sure), Sigil of Corruption.
Raptors X5 - VotLW, Mark of Nurgle, 2 Meltaguns, Dual Lightning Claws and Meltabombs on the Champ.
Raptors X5 - VotLW, Mark of Nurgle, 2 Meltaguns, Dual Lightning Claws and Meltabombs on the Champ. (The Raptors can pop nasty things like Land Raiders and Hammerheads, allowing the rest of my army to remain unharmed. The Chaos Lord goes with one squad in order to wreak havoc).
Plague Marines X5 - 2 Plasma Guns, Power Sword (may switch to a Lightning Claw) and Meltabombs on the Champ

Plague Marines X5 - 2 Plasma Guns, Power Sword (may switch to a Lightning Claw) and Meltabombs on the Champ
Plague Marines X5 - 2 Plasma Guns, Power Sword (may switch to a Lightning Claw) and Meltabombs on the Champ
Heldrake - Bale Flamer (Swapped out the Defiler)
Thoughts?

It's certainly different from most other Nurgle-based lists I've seen, that's for sure. You might find that 5 man squads of Raptors will get shot to death way too easily for your taste, despite the T5, so you might want to combine them for a squad of 10 or even more, if you have points to spare.
Another option is swapping the Raptors and the JP Lord for Bikers and a Biker Lord - this gives you T6 and the same amount of special weapons on a similar quickly-moving unit.
You also may or may not be pleased with the performance of the Defiler. They were a mediocre 'jack of all trades' in 5th ed for 150 points; a lot of chaos players have completely lost their taste for them now that they approach 200 points.

Side effects of worshiping Papa Nurgle include (and are not limited to): Boils, scabs, internal bleeding, external bleeding, bleeding from the gums, eyes and ears, sweating, dehydration, furuncles, rash, pus-filled sores, nausea, vomiting, bloody vomit, black vomit, black & bloody vomit, sneezing, runny nose, dry nose, coughing, dry cough, wet cough, not-so-dry-but-still-raspy coughing, fever, hay fever, athlete's foot, athlete's arm, swimmer's ear, farmer's tongue, drowsiness, sleepiness, insomnia, mad cow disease, mad postal worker disease, loose bowels, constipation, anal leakage, and blood clotting. In most cases side effects were generally in the extreme and permanent. Consult your local cultist before worshiping Nurgle. |

I'm going to agree, and actually recommend the bikers to you.
For 6 more points per model (cost of model and mark differences) you get not only T6, but a 5+ jink save in case you get hit with something that pens armor. (4+ if you turbo-boost instead of shooting) That's tons of survivability.
You also get Twin-linked bolters to shoot (and as bikes are relentless, they can rapid-fire and still charge.) Like plasmaguns? want 4 shots pre-charge? bikers are ya bois.
If you like defilers... You'll love Soulgrinders. Check out a cheap allied detatchment of chaos daemons. You can get 5 plaguebearers and a herald of nurgle for 155, then the Soulgrinder is 160 if you take Phlem (S8AP3 large blast... yum)

1) I've updated the list to fit in a Heldrake and dropped the Defiler.
2) To bump up this army to 2k at some point, I will either add a DP/Chaos Bikers or Ork allies (Warboss, Nob Bikers, Dakkajet)
3) I don't want to get into daemons with an update soon, and if I did, it'd be purely for the Tally.
