Are there any other way to use a Hive Tyrant? I mean there are so many army lists for nids saying "hive tyrant wings brainleech x2" but are there any other ways? The flyrant is good but there has to be other ways.

Dual TL Dev Flyrants are pretty solid and tactically good all around, so that's why you see so many of them.
I'd say that taking one with the 2+ armor upgrade, lashwhip bonesword and, I dunno some kinda shooting weapon (venom cannon?) could be good in conjunction with Tyrant Guard.
The thing is you have to pay for upgrades beyond the base Tyrant if you want him to survive long enough to actually get into battle.
If you're running one on foot personally I'd suggest the Swarmlord, he comes with most of the goodies you want to take anyways, has an invul in CC unlike a stock Tyrant and gets 4 psychic powers of which you can use 2 per turn (assuming you all use level 1 powers) so him+1-2 Tyrant Guard+Biomancy= a hellish beast that will take most of the shooting off your army and probably survive it as well.

Time to make a Death Star unit and table 500-650 point games

There are several ways to build him.
He can only shoot two weapons and the devouerers are by far the best. 12 re-roll to hit S6 is mad. Venom cannon is very very bad, and the big blasters is not so good as tyranids have a lott of things vs infantery but not vs tanks. The devouerers are good vs infantery and tanks and good on overwatch.
His 2 abilaties are good, perfered ennemy buble (hello zoanthropes and hive guards) and +1 to reserves and outflank a troop.
Armoured shell is nice, as is the other flamer abilaty. Also, tyrant guards are nice. Eather with whip or not with whip.
2 psykick powers and being abel to cast one means you can stera clear of shooting powers.
Eather use him because he has skyfire and flying or use him as a huuuge army center that it is hard to deal with. He is cool but he costs a lott of points.

The armored foot Tyrant is great, just don't take the HVC. Between the nerf going form 4th to 5th codexes and the follow up nerfs of 6e to the V.D. table it has lost it's main role. The Stranglethorn has also just gotten plain better. Large Blast, pinning, S6 so it can harm av11 and av 12 units.
My typical walker is Armored, Bonesword/Lash whip,Stranglethorn, Toxic Miasma, either H.C. or OA depending on the rest of the list. This build pulls fire, and can take alot of CC thanks to the changes in power weapons. I go with the Stranglethorn over the twin devours do to range.
The other build I use alot is the walking shooter. This guy acts an anchor for my gribbly lists. Twin link devourers, Stranglethorn, 2 T.G. and generally H.C.
