Hey Dakka,

Surprisingly, no one seems too have picked up on this story in the OT. I'm shocked!

"Dad, can I borrow some money?"
"Again?"
"Yeah, I kinda spent the last loan you gave me..."
"No, not this time, you can learn from your actions."
"Remember when I saved your life?"
"How much?"

Mandorallen turned back toward the insolently sneering baron. 'My Lord,' The great knight said distantly, 'I find thy face apelike and thy form misshapen. Thy beard, moreover, is an offence against decency, resembling more closely the scabrous fur which doth decorate the hinder portion of a mongrel dog than a proper adornment for a human face. Is it possibly that thy mother, seized by some wild lechery, did dally at some time past with a randy goat?' - Mimbrate Knight Protector Mandorallen.

Excerpt from "Seeress of Kell", Book Five of The Malloreon series by David Eddings.

They grow up (and begin to connive) so fast

Somewhere in south-central England.

There is a heliport near there. The crane has hazard lights, but may not have been properly visible in the early morning fog, especially its jib.

The helicopter was diverted from a different port in flight. The pilot was a very experienced man who flew for air ambulances, the Royal Family and James Bond films.

I don't know how much control the pilot had after the collision, but I like to think he aimed for the road rather than a building or market.

We were very lucky the damage and casualties were so low.

I'm writing a load of fiction. My latest story starts here... This is the index of all the stories...

We're not very big on official rules. Rules lead to people looking for loopholes. What's here is about it.

Actually drove past on the other side of the river from this later in the day, and we could see the arm of the crane dangling down. It's incredibly lucky no one else was killed, It's a reasonably busy area.
