Hi, I'm starting BA and am thinking about some ideas I don't have the codex but want to make a 1500 point army.
Here is my idea:

HQ:
Librarian w/ Epistolary and terminator armour Wings and shield
Librarian w/ Epistolary jump pack divination powers and a plasma pistol


Elites:
Sternguard in a droppod all with combi melta
Brother Corbulo with them tanking The gun fire
Sang guard all with plasma pistols two with axes
Troops:
3x10 Assault squads all with melta guns and power fists for the sergeants.

Heavy Support:
2 Baal Preds with flame storm cannons and heavy flamers

Sternguard in reserve with Corbulo
Baals on edge of army providing fire and flank support
Assaults squad being the core and taking the centre
Libby with jump pack is with sang guard giving divination powers and providing combat support
Other Libby with a jump squad providing shield cover so at least one squad is alive.
Everything moves and gets into cover as soon as possible
Sternguard come down and rain dakka from 24-18 inches away with special ammo while Corbulo is like that's right 2+ FnP to things shooty and he's an IC so just look out a sir on an instant death weapon plus he gets one free refill for anything besides deployment

I'm hoping this army to engage enemies while whittling them down with fire support (literally) and having enough combat to be scary for most armies

How will you be playing the Sang. Guards?

Flame tanks are very much suicide machines now. You can never snap fire templates, either.

I'm pretty sure this adds up to more than 1500 pts. You might really want to consider the other marines codices if you are not committed to BA. They are all better other than BT.
