so i have a few problems with this list. I have a full tzeentch list that has Fatey,
LoC, 3 units of flamers X5, pink horrors, screamers X9, and 2
DP. i think your list has one major problem and that's damage from your big guys, as well as lack of numbers. starting with troops, awesome in every way i do the same thing though i think you have to many given their price and effectiveness. Also Changling isn't in your list and he is honestly the most undercoat unit in the game.....almost no points for a chance to make an enemy not shoot you (and if they fail to shoot you they cant charge cause they targeted another unit TROLOLOLOL) he makes the most sense of anything i have ever seen in the daemons codex as an auto include. plus statistically if you get him in on a preferred wave (which you should always do) and he lives the whole game it should deny at least one unit the chance to shoot at some point...totally worth it for the miniscule cost.
DP's great literally the exact way i run em and at your points to is perfect any more and unbalances the list. However with the
LoC i would seriously consider dropping all upgrades on him and using the 70 points to add another unit of flamers. combine this with dropping at least one unit of horrors would yield 165 points and would get you about 7 flamers that would give you enough to have 3 units of 5 which in my playing is the most effective number to go with without a
HQ to get more on the alpha strike (IE using either first turn
DS or another unit with an icon to
DS them aggressively and using the
HQ's larger base to fit more flame templates around a unit. properly done i easily get 5 templates on a unit granted not all optimally but 3-4 wonderfully and the last 1-2 pretty well you can do it with more but i i am sometimes stretched with 5 possibly 6 man max for this tactic) also this form of deployment will demoralize your opponent and cause huge mistakes like targeting said flamers and ignoring your Fateweave which is always a good thing since this list is about target overload and massive damage. i think you have a good list and if you have em drop maby one
DP or another unit of horrors and add a full unit of screamers for pretty much the same points cost and you wind up with a fluffy competitive list that can dish out tons of damage and is rather more resilient. your current list has one major problem and that is you lack the bodies, and damage, to be effective vs most horde elements specifically 6th Ed Nids...and most similar horde lists. smart positioning by your opponent (and anyone that hears tzeentch daemons will immediately spread to max unit coherency if your current list wouldnt have tabled them already) will immediately drop the effectiveness of a mere 8 flamers down to practically nothing with smart positioning. furthermore the points you spend on your
HQ are i believe completely wasted. Yes you can and often get your
FMC's into positions where they can be very effective with breath however you almost never want them to be there unless they are charging. if this is the case you would be better off playing them slight more defensively (like staying close to max range which is easy to do when you have
FMC rules and 2 24 inch weapons) or you are charging then the target you should be going after you most likely wont want to breath due to in my experience with charging in melee you need to make charges a sure thing and killing ANY models with breath has cost me several charges even when it should have...by last edition.....a sure thing. Finally why would you take what a 30 point upgrade on a
FMC that wants to avoid melee and troll around the sky blowing up
MEQ's n tanks and give him a short ranged attack that costs MORE by a ton than a basic flamer when they are functionally the same thing and one gets you 2 more wounds and another major target they must deal with that can keep up with the
MCs anyway cause of jump 12in move, which is the same min movement you require with
FMC's. Additionally with the 7 point drop getting Changling in this list is not only fluffy but totally awesome for the reasons above
Hope this helps just some of my experience with the new daemons. oh and i highly recommend you trying to squeeze in either masque or for fluff reasons blue scribes to this list so that when your enemy focuses Fatey and he finally goes down (in my experience their whole army shooting at him for like 2-3 turns) you at least deny them the warlord bonus, cause of the
Ld 9 fatey and 10 for other
HQs (i know you did this with the
LoC but i love pavane in a list with flamers). Plus with either of these guys you get an awesome ability in pavane which makes your flamers SOOOOOOOOO much better because an up to 6in move you get will F%#@ up their position if they tried to be cute and set up at max unit coherency.
Edit 1 Decided i could do the math and came up with a few interesting ideas for you:
Fatey 333
Loc 250
Flamers 5 115
flamers 5 115
flamers 5 115
Screamers 9 175
DP 220
DP 220
this leaves you with 207 points to get the min 2 troop choices while keeping closest with your current setup (aka what i would do in your place ignoring what models you currently own cause i don't know). or assuming you dont have the screamers droping them and taking the 4 horror units you have as is and fiddling with the points a tiny bit.
Idea 2
Fatey 333
Blue Scribes 130
flamers x15 with one Pyrocaster *note Blue scribes go with this one for
LOS fun 355
Screamers 9-175
DP 220 (same setup as you)
DP 220 *same
DP 220 *same
x2 Horrors with 2 bolts Changling and 10 guys 195 total and you have my 1850 list
it wont win you many friends but you will table almost every opponent you play against with the exception of hoards which require some carful planing and target priority and then you can kick their buts =)
Hope all this helped any questions and i will be happy to discuss i love the new deamons and cant wait for the new dex to see what warped spawned goodness comes our way.
