Hey folks,

I was just wondering what sort of ideas you folks had in regards to sprucing up the Table.

I've got 4 2' x 4' boards that I've glued down green grass-type mats onto. I have some trees that I place around sporadically for forests, a neat little church I snagged for $3, a bunker, and a manmade hill... Then I've got some modelling bricks that I use for makeshift cover. But it always feels like it's missing something, like there ought to be more foliage....

What sort of things do you use for foliage? Do you have any other tips for adding character to the Table?

Cheers

Most people just use aquarium foliage for plants. Looks a little cartoony but it works and is cheap.

An ork with an idea tends to end with a bang.

Create a number of bases for the trees; just a simple flat shape of card with clump foliage and scatter on it. Count the whole area as woodland so you get a larger area of terrain for as few trees as possible. Plus if you make the trees removable you avoid the problem of large units not fitting in the woods.

Try making a modular river. Looks good and can have any number of rules added to change gameplay. How about basic razorwire stretched between a couple of matchsticks on a base?

Miniature Christmas trees from the Christmas scenery can work very well and you can pick it up reasonably cheap.

Aquarium stuff can work very well, here area few examples:
