Do the codex ebooks update to include faqs rendered by games workshop? Or anything of a similar nature in order to fix any vagueness that may be cleared up at a later time?

Or is it a simple click, buy and deal with it kind of system?

They update them. In the most recent case the Necron Ebook was updated before the FAQ released.
