I started a thread in the tactics section, regarding a bike army and it's slowly started to change my list.

Here is what the thread has resulted in:

Captain w/ Artificer Armour, Relic Blade, Bike - 180
Bike squad w/ +5 men, 2 plasma guns, Meltabombs, attack bike: MM - 300
Bike squad w/ +5 men, 2 plasma guns, Meltabombs, attack bike: MM - 300

only thing I miss (personal preference) could be a librarian... but I can't see where too fit him in, so I probably wouldn't get a libby anyway

I'm not a huge fan of the vindicators in a bike list. They will always be a huge target, every arm has a plan for dealing with high AV armor (plus because They must go forward they get their side armor exposed). I prefer thunderfire cannons because they can ignore cover and slow down an opponent which is nice for the bikes that want to oh maneuver them. I understand the difference between thunderfire and vindicators is preference but otherwise a looks pretty solid.

One thing I know very competative bike lists do and I'm trying to find the points for is taking a farseer and some guardian jet bikes. Runes of warding for psychic defens and doom are really nice buffs for a biker army.

The attraction to vindicators is the huge S10, AP1 blast. TFCs do alot of damage, but not as critical as the vindicators. TBH, i'd prefer the TFC, less of a target, more shots, flexible (different shots) and, in terms of storage space, it doesn't take up much.

But if i did take the TFCs, i'd suddenly have alot more firepower focussed on my bikes, which isn't great because they are scoring and my main 'assault' force.

The farseer and GJBs are an interesting idea. I'm going to look into that
