So i was thinking of adding some allies for my Space Wolves and was considering Imperial Guard but, What do they offer to Space Wovles? Other then a flyer that is. I mean in game terms, I tried asking this on a diferent forum but people would only talk about what IG allies addd fluff wise. I'm not realy intrested in the fluff, Just want to know what they offer gameplay wise.

Hordes. Lot's of bodies for relatively few points. Basically one guard troop choice (the platoon) is like a FOC. What do you want in your list? You can almost certainly find it in the Guard platoon.

You want some more lascannons, try the heavy weapon squads. You want to have over 100 IG running around for fun, try maxing out the conscript and the normal infantry squads.

You will mostlikely get better answers if you tell us what you want from your IG allies and we can help you from there.

Well, I honestly dont know what I want.. I just think it would be fun to have a smallish allied force to run with my Space Wolves.. And Imperial Guard seems like a logical choise (Unless you want to take more space marines..) So I was curious what they had to offer that Space Wolves dont have themselves..

The flyers are a obious one. The tanks are nice, And I realy like the Vostroyan models.

Long range heavy artillery and tough MBTs. While the space wolves may have long fanges, being able to take a prop a S8 SP3 large blast anywhere on the table can seriously wreck people's days, whether it's though a back line basilisk or a line breaker Leman Russ.

SW at the moment have no in codex way to handle flyers, cheap IG flyers or hydra's can fix this, cheap infantry can hold objectives while hunters to to clear your enemies off theirs.
