Hey Dakka

I want to use a Victory class as my BB as I love the extra lances - any advice on what ship to use? I cant find a victory class on the GW or FW websites.

Cheers

I'm not familiar with this ship. Where are the rules for it?

It's an extra from the BFG magazine. Check it out here. It looks like it's just a Retribution but with lance broadsides rather than weapon batteries, and a nova cannon on the prow.

Assuming the Retribution comes with plastic batteries (can an imperial player confirm this?) you can just get one of them, use the lances instead of the batteries, and glue on a nova cannon from the Imperial cruiser sprue.

Adrift within the vortex of my imagination.

Use the official Apocalypse model. The difference between the Victory and Apocalypse is that the Victory has four 60cm lances like a Desolator, the Apocalypse has six 30cm lances which can double range in return for a thruster critical.

You are better off with the Apocalypse, and it doesn't count as a 'house rules' fleet.

n'oublie jamais - It appears I now have to highlight this again.

The Victory is built on the same Hull as the Retribution. It just has different battery loadouts.

Many of GW's BFG ships didn't have an actual model. You would get an existing one and give it the proper battery sections.

Just buy a Retribution battleship and use Lance battery sections instead of Weapon Battery sections. The kit won't come with the 6 lance sections required, you'll need to get those elsewhere. Like extras from a Cruiser box.

Either the Apoc or the Retribution as long as the weapons down the sides are lances, it's just a case of which ship you prefer the look of, the Gothic or Voss styled prow.
