In my local meta, there is concern over whether the following is a legal interpretation of the rules. Please let me know if you disagree, and why. I am compiling unanswered FAQ questions.

The Standard of Devastation says that all boltguns within 6" will be salvo 2/4.

Under the header "BOLTGUNS" in the BGB (p.56), all bolter weapons are included, including storm bolters and heavy bolters. There are three "camps" on what constitutes a bolter in my local meta.

A) All weapons under the BOLTGUNS header of the BGB.

B) "Lowercase" boltguns, hurricane bolters, and combi-weapons

C) Only "lowercase" boltguns

On the same page in the BRB is has a specific entry for bolt gun (the standard bolter). I would argue that the weapon profile for bolt gun as per that page is the standard bolter

Lower case "bolt gun" only; this includes hurricane bolters as they are composed of boltguns, which is how you determine the profile for the hurricane bolter

RAW c), though hurricane bolters are included, because they are 3 boltguns.
edit: Ups, checked C:BA and nosferatu is right. B is the right answer even RAW.

But it really should be b), because of the Sternguard precedent that equates combi-weapons with bolt guns.
Edit: Only on the bolter profile of the combi-weapon that is....

RAW is b), as a combi-bolter is a boltgun and one shot weapon.

As per a previous thread on this im going with a), as this covers all boltguns types, while I may not agree with it, this appears to be the way it is played here

Correct answer is B.

If it's a) then all "boltguns" are Vulcan Mega-Bolters.

B should be the way to go, don't listen to tfgs.

To me it seems like the RAW could be either A or B.

The RAI is probably B though.
