Hey, this question came up in a tournement i went to recently.

The manticore's missles are not on a turret from what i can see from the model. So if it limited to a 45 degree firing arc?

I played it wasnt restricted by the firing arc, due to it being able to target units not in LOS of it.

If i have missed something here and i am completly wrong could you please quote page numbers, paragraphs etc...

Thanks in advance!

Out of my Mind

Not sure what the situation was. Did your opponent state you can't shoot outside of the 45deg. arc?

Closest I think you'll find on it is the Barrage rules. (p.34) I wouldn't say that they are turret mounted either, but I wouldn't prevent them from firing off to the side since it would only be treated as out of LOS, and would scatter the full Distance. Again, not sure on the situation, but you can always pivot and fire the weapon so that he's within the 45deg Arc, unless you were immobilized. If you're not pivoting, then you're not bringing the HB (if that's whats on the Hull) around to fire at the unit as well if you were trying to get LoS. Lastly, don't forget to check minimum range (if the Manticore has one). If the target was within Minimum range then LoS isn't really relevant unless you're trying to use the HB as well.

Manticore missiles are limited to 45 degree firing arc when doing direct fire.

When doing indirect fire (no BS reduction for scatter), limited firing arc doesn't matter, exactly as you said.
